Ashray Bhavan was established in the year 2000 to provide shelter and refuge, to develop and educate, to empower and equip the very needy and underprivileged boys.

This home has a commitment to provide a hope and a desire to excel and to make children self reliant. This is a humble effort to offer identity, dignity and self confidence to children described below:

  • One in every three malnourished children in the world live in India.
  • One in every sixteen children die before they attain the age of one.
  • One in eleven children die before they are five years old.
  • Twenty five percent of the world’s low birth weight babies are born in India
  • Out of every hundred children who enroll in school, 70 drop out by the time they reach their secondary level.
  • India is home to the largest number of child labour in the world.
  • India has the largest number of sexually abused children.
  • The very survival of an underprivileged Indian child is a matter of concern as around 2.5 million children die in India every year.

Currently Ashray Bhavan is a home to fifty boys between the ages of 5 year to 19 year. All boys attend a regular school which is about three kilometers from the home.  After the successful completion of regular schooling boys are sent to a skill development centre where they earn a diploma course in computers or any other skill which may help them in upcoming job further to this they are guided to find placements in the industry with assistance of SPIN. Fortunately the pass out children till date are employed and are also pursuing their onward education.

Ashray Bhavan provides:

A safe and wholesome environment with counseling sessions held to build up conduct and character of each child.

  • Nutritious diet to ensure a healthy body, mind and spirit.
  • Educative and recreational trips for the children to expand their mental horizons.
  • Facilities for indoor and outdoor games to keep them physically fit.
  • Group medical insurance policy to cover all hospital medical expenses.
  • Regular weekly medical checkups done by trained qualified doctors.
  • Legal identity in terms of PAN card / Driving License / Bank Accounts to all children passing out, enabling them to strike out on their own in the society.
  • Average stay period of about ten to twelve years. The ultimate goal is to see the boys settled in a regular life style in mainline society, self sufficient with a skill to earn their living and be productive socially.
  • Ashray Bhavan is registered and recognized as a “Child Care Institution” (CCI) as per the Juvenile Justice Act of the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt Haryana State and Govt of India.

Our Focus

At Ashray Bhavan we rejoice in providing deaf & dumb children a healthy, pollution-free environment, good nutritious food, best medical facility, a satisfactory level of education and skill training to make them self reliant & independent. This is just a humble attempt to offer identity, dignity, and self-confidence to a few from among the many presents in India. The current focus is on boys in the age group of five to ten years old when they arrive at Ashray Bhavan. Ashray Bhavan is built upon little less than an acre of land but well secured & connected with the City of Faridabad of Haryana State & about 30kms from New Delhi. With accommodation facility of 50 Children in two dormitories of 25 each, the classroom is spacious for studies, the home has a dining room for food, a garden including a kitchen garden for growing vegetables. All the boys are being sent to a regular school in an effort to bring them up as normal as possible. All the forty children are either abandoned, or have single parent / disadvantaged parents, or are complete orphans.

Ashray Bhavan under SPIN defines children who are the needy and the underprivileged under following conditions:

  • Children who are victims of poverty, illiteracy and negligence.
  • Children who live in unhealthy and unhygienic conditions.
  • Children who are displaced, orphans, abandoned and neglected.
